NGG Advises Sunboost on Enhancing Value and Broadening Scope

Sunboost is Australia’s largest residential solar company and installer, with offices in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane. The company provides solar power solutions for both residential and commercial use, including hybrid and off-grid solar panels.

As a rapidly growing industry, solar power in Australia benefits from the country's high average solar radiation per square meter, along with the highest per capita consumption of residential rooftop solar and leading solar photovoltaic (PV) technology globally.

NGG advised Sunboost’s parent company, National Solar Energy Group, on developing a comprehensive business expansion strategy targeting corporate clients and all levels of government (local, state, and federal). The objective was to streamline the business and position the company for potential listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). NGG identified strategic opportunities within the renewable energy sector, including international expansion and joint ventures with government and renewable energy organisations.

NGG facilitated the vertical integration of Sunboost’s parent company into residential, commercial, B2B, and import distribution sectors, including the process to become a licened energy company. Additionally, NGG restructured the company’s legal, ownership, and operational frameworks to enhance profitability and streamline its processes for future growth.

NGG played a key role in acquiring a small commercial solar business, overseeing the due diligence, legal, contractual, and sales and marketing aspects of the acquisition, as well as the integration of the business. NGG also managed the establishment of a CBD office for the new business and recruited the required sales, marketing, and technical staff.

Furthermore, NGG negotiated with a large institutional investor to secure funding for Sunboost’s parent company and assisted in bringing renowned Australian cricketer Allan Border on board as the company’s brand ambassador.
